We work with patients to improve their nutrition as part of a healthier lifestyle! Here are ten tips that we give to our patients more often as an easy reference.
- Eat fresh locally grown organic fruits and vegetables of all colors.
- Eat organic meat, chicken, eggs, nuts, seeds, and wild-caught seafood.
- Eat fermented foods such as yogurt, sauerkraut, kimchi, and miso soup to promote friendly bacteria in the intestine tract.
- Drink plenty of filtered water – at least 50% of your body weight in ounces daily.
- Use herbs such as garlic, ginger, cinnamon, and turmeric that have anti-inflammatory effects and add flavor to the foods.
- Eat only when you are hungry, chew well, and do not overeat.
- Eat 50 % of your vegetables raw. Cooking can destroy vitamins and enzymes.
- Avoid processed carbohydrates, fried foods, and preserved meats.
If you follow these practical tips, you’ll be well on your way to better health.
